David Oscar Troxel was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska, on January 10, 1941. He joined the Army in January 1961. This brought him to Ft. Bragg, NC, in 1962, where he was a member of the 50th Signal Battalion Paratrooper School. He met his wife, Sara Horton Troxel in 1962, and they were married October 10, 1964. David worked for Bell South/AT&T from 1965 until his retirement in 1998. He was a Knightdale resident for 58 years.
