The North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics unites officers from law enforcement agencies and corrections departments across the state in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics North Carolina. The Knightdale Police Department is a tenured participant of this event, raising over $20,000 in each of the last three years. The department's annual fundraising efforts include collecting corporate sponsorships, selling Torch Run t-shirts and hats, and hosting unique fundraising events such as Cop on Top and Knightdale's annual Spring Carnival.
