It is the policy of the Knightdale Police Department to enforce the laws and ordinances regulating the operation of motor vehicles within our town. Our ultimate goal is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of pedestrians and vehicles within the Town of Knightdale.
The department and its members strive to take reasonable enforcement actions and undertake traffic safety education programs to improve traffic safety, reduce the frequency of motor vehicle collisions, and induce voluntary compliance with traffic safety laws and ordinances.
While both qualitative and quantitative emphases are integral to our traffic enforcement program, emphasis on quantitative enforcement activities, such as ticket quotas, is prohibited. It is important for citizens to know that officers are expected to use discretion and professionalism when dealing with the motoring public.
The Knightdale Police Department is also committed to educating motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists on the issues that impact the safe and expeditious movement of traffic throughout the town. We encourage you to use the information provided below to educate yourselves and others on variety of traffic safety topics. We welcome your call or visit with any questions you may have about our commitment to traffic safety education and enforcement.
