Development Services

The Knightdale Development Services Department provides quality customer service to our citizens, business owners, and the development community.  The Department facilitates sustainable growth through regulations that promote a balance of the built and natural environments.  

Development Services is the central point of contact for the Town of Knightdale for all development-related needs.  The Department oversees the entire development process from permit application submittals through the issuance of certificates of occupancy (CO).  Development Services ensures that all development activities within the Town's planning jurisdiction are conducted in accordance with the Knightdale Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and the North Carolina State Building Code.  

Our professional staff helps our customers understand all applicable regulations and guides them through the development process.


Construction Tracking Sheet (Excel)
The Construction Tracking Sheet is a comprehensive list of all approved developments in the Town of Knightdale.  This information also provides the status of each development.

Monthly Activity Report
The Monthly Activity Report is newsletter that is designed to conveniently provide all stakeholders a snapshot of relevant, development activities in the Town.

Public Hearings
This information lists all pending public hearings under review by the Land Use Review Board (LURB) and Town Council.


Unified Development Ordinance (UDO)
Comprehensive ordinance that contains all development requirements for the Town.

Monthly Code Enforcement Schedule
Map detailing the patrol zones and schedule for code enforcement. 



iMAPS is an interactive mapping application provided by the City of Raleigh and Wake  County.  This online application provides convenient access to a myriad of property-related maps and data.  Users can query information for ownership, addresses, account numbers, PINs, and street intersections within Wake County.  iMaps also provides real estate data such as acreage, assessed tax valuation, zoning and property sales information.  Commonly used map layers include orthophotography (aerial views), demographics, planning jurisdictions, voting precincts, and environmental data.
