Thomas Broughton lived in Knightdale for 36 years with his wife and two daughters who graduated from East Wake High School. He became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in 1989 and was a Sunday School teacher there for many years. Thomas was the President of Green Pines Pool and Recreation Center, and he was responsible for many of the swim team facility improvements and upgrades. He was also a member of the Knightdale Lions Club and a Lockhart School PTA facilitator.
