Odell Strickland was born on December 31, 1921, in Middlesex, NC. He lived in Knightdale for 23 years. During that time, he worked as a state government employee in solid and hazardous waste management. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and served on the Finance Committee. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest member of the church.
