Parking is available at the main entrance adjacent to the playground on Main Street or beside the tennis courts along Fourth Avenue.

Hours

The playground and picnic shelter area is open dawn to dusk.
The courts are open dawn to 10:00 p.m.
Court lights are accessible every night at 5:00 p.m. Push the large button on the indicator poll to turn on the court lights. A warning light at the top of the indicator poll will come on when lights are programming off. The warning light will give you time to reset the button. Lights will not be available after 10:00 p.m.

Court Rules
  • The tennis and pickleball courts are run on a first-come first-serve basis. The courts are only reserved for Town of Knightdale programs.
  • Tennis shoes only, no other shoes allowed.
  • Only racket-related sports allowed on courts.
  • No skateboards, bikes, skates, or motorized or non-motorized vehicles allowed on courts.
  • No food or glass containers allowed on the courts.
  • No animals allowed on the courts.
  • Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet except in a designated dog park. Leash must be always held by the owner or competent individual. The tethering of pets to objects is not permitted.
  • If others are waiting, please limit play to (1) game to 11 points or 30 minutes, whichever comes first. If more than eight players are in attendance, a rotation system should be established to maximize play by placing paddles in the rack. At the conclusion of each game, all players should exit the court, and the next four players waiting will enter the court.
    • Paddle Rack Rules
      • One paddle = one player
      • You must be present to place your paddle; holding spots for others is prohibited.
      • Using multiple paddles and/or having paddles in both court racks is prohibited.
      • Playing while also having a paddle in the rack is prohibited. You may reserve your place again only after you finish your match.
      • If you have any concerns, please alert a Park Attendant.
  • Tennis has priority of tennis court usage. Pickleball is only allowed on empty Tennis courts when nobody is waiting to play tennis. Pickleball lines may not be added to the Tennis courts (chalk, tape, etc.).
Park Rules
  • Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet except in a designated dog park. Leash must be always held by the owner or competent individual. The tethering of pets to objects is not permitted.
  • Pets are not permitted in any area designated for athletic use. This includes but is not limited to tennis or pickleball courts, and baseball, softball, or soccer fields.
  • Pets that show signs of aggression should be removed from the property immediately.
  • Clean up after your pet.
  • Park only in designated areas. No parking on the roadside or grass.
  • Motorized vehicles must remain on the road or in the parking lot. The use of motorized vehicles on grassy areas, sidewalks, or trails is prohibited.
  • Please adhere to all rental postings.
  • Geocaching is allowed, but sites must be approved by the Knightdale Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Programs Department.
  • Fishing is catch and release only.
  • The following are prohibited:
    • Smoking
    • Personal Grills
    • Open fires
    • Alcoholic beverages (unless a Town-Approved Event)
    • Firearms (unless specifically permitted by State law)
    • Hunting
    • Overnight camping (permit required)
    • Swimming or wading
    • Boating
    • Feeding of wildlife
    • Collection, removal, or release of any animal, plant, or mineral material
    • Amplified sound, including but not limited to music and voice amplification (unless approved by the Town)
    • Fireworks (unless a Town-sponsored Event)
    • Tents / Canopy (unless a Town-approved Event)
    • Generators (unless approved by the Town)
    • Solicitation or selling of goods or services (unless approved by the Town)
    • Launching or recovering drones from Town parks or outdoor facilities (unless approved by the Town)
    • Conducting a program, class, or paid instruction (unless approved by the Town)
    • Inflatables, including but not limited to bounce houses, ball pits, and slides
