OVERVIEW
The Finance Department is an integral part of the Town of Knightdale's daily operations and long-term projects. The Department serves as the foundation for various Town services. The goal is to provide quality management of the Town's financial resources with exceptional customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.
PAYMENT COLLECTION
A payment drop box is available in front of Town Hall for use during and after hours. Payments are retrieved from the drop box each business day. The Finance Department collects payment for the following:
Cash, checks, money orders, and credit cards are accepted for payments due to the Town of Knightdale. These payments are typically for citations, licenses, registration for Parks & Recreation programs, nuisance abatement charges, zoning fees, and inspection fees.
Water and sewer utilities within the Town of Knightdale are handled by the City of Raleigh. If you have questions regarding water or sewer service availability and/or new construction, please email water.review@raleighnc.gov.
City of Raleigh utility bills may be paid online or over the phone by calling (888) 905-3169. Residents may pay City of Raleigh utility bills in-person at the Finance Department located at 305 Sugar Magnolia Lane on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Methods of payment accepted are cash, check and credit/debit cards.

Starting July 1, 2025, the Town of Knightdale will no longer accept in-person property tax payments. Residents who previously paid at Town Hall will need to use alternative methods, including online, mail or designated in-person sites elsewhere in the County. Please contact the Wake County Department of Tax Administration at (919) 856-5400 for additional information on payment options.
Town Hall will continue to accept cash or check for Wake County property tax payments through the close of business on June 30, 2025.
