Willard Carpenter was born on May 10, 1928. He graduated from Knightdale High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army. He worked at NC State University as Director of Merchandise Departments at the Students Supply Store, retiring with 32 years of service. Willard was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
