KNIGHTDALE, NC – The Knightdale Town Council officially adopted a $46.0 million budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026, following a unanimous vote during the Town Council meeting on June 18th. The General Fund approved budget is $40.5 million, which funds most service areas. The budget reflects the Town’s continued commitment to investments in public safety, infrastructure, community services, and sustainable growth.
The budget includes key investments in the following areas:
Capital Improvement Projects (CIP): The budget allocates $2,559,500 from the General Fund to support 18 capital improvement projects. These include critical investments in street paving and sidewalk enhancements, renovations to the community pool restrooms, replacement of the Knightdale Station Park sign and clock tower, installation of field lighting at Knightdale Elementary School Fields 1 and 2, vehicle replacements and additions, and the development of additional office space at Knightdale Station Park Field 2.
Personnel: The budget allocates 184 full-time positions, which includes 20 new positions (7% increase from last year). The Town continues to make serious investments in its workforce to meet the increasing demands of service delivery.
Major Capital / Capital Project Ordinances (CPO): Knightdale will invest approximately $15.7 million in major capital projects for FY 2026 which include the Law Enforcement Center, Knightdale Blvd & Old Knight Road Pedestrian Improvements, Fire Rescue Engine, Fire Tiller Ladder Truck, and design of the Widewaters Extension Railroad Bridge.
