If you have an interest in urban and community planning or have ever wondered about Knightdale's development processes and practices, we invite you to join us in our annual Community Planning Academy!
The Knightdale Community Planning Academy is a dynamic and interactive program aimed at helping residents understand how planning and development affects their lives and to encourage participation and engagement in the community, local government, and future planning efforts.

- Transportation Planning: regional partners, transit, infrastructure improvements
- Current Planning: the development process and upcoming projects
2025 Schedule
The planning academy consists of three sessions on the following dates. All sessions are from 6:15-8:30 pm at Knightdale Town Hall.
- Wednesday, September 24
- Wednesday, October 1
- Wednesday, October 8
Before each session an informal meal will be provided at 5:45 pm where participants can enjoy friendly conversations and build relationships with neighbors and other community members.
Eligibility
Enrollment is limited to 20 participants who live within Knightdale's corporate limits or the extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ), are at least 18 years of age, and can attend all three sessions. Participants will be selected on a first come, first-served basis, but with priority given to first time attendees.
