Public Works Week Spotlight: Larry Johnson and John Stover

Knightdale is joining many municipalities across the US and North America in celebrating our Public Works Department and those who make this Town tick. In honor of the Knightdale Public Works Department, Mayor James Roberson and Knightdale Town Council proclaimed Knightdale's observance of National Public Works Week between May 20th and May 26th.

Today, we highlight Knightdale Public Works Crew Leader John Stover and Operations Supervisor Larry Johnson.   Did you know that the Town of Knightdale police cruisers that patrol our town keeping us safe are in service due to the care John and Larry provide.  They and Public Works staff maintain all 80 fleet vehicles ranging from Public Works trucks, to Knightdale Police vehicles. This job truly keeps Knightdale running, and we are happy to have John and Larry on our Public Works staff.  When you see them around, please make sure to thank them!

National Public Works Weeks (NPWW) is a time to celebrate the tens of thousands of men and women in North America who provide and maintain the infrastructure and service sand many other aspects, this small but strong and dedicated group makes sure everything works for you.

National Public Works Week is observed each year during the third full week of May. Through NPWW and other efforts, APWA seeks to raise the public's awareness of public works issues and to increase confidence in public works employees who are dedicated to improving the quality of life for present and future generations.
