Knightdale, NC - The Knightdale Fire Department is pleased to announce two significant leadership promotions, effective June 6, 2026, reflecting the organization’s continued commitment to excellence and professional development.
After a distinguished 32-year career in the fire service, Battalion Chief William Boggs has been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief. Chief Boggs has served as a Battalion Chief with the Knightdale Fire Department since 2020, consistently demonstrating exceptional professionalism, operational expertise, and a strong commitment to organizational excellence.
In his new role as Assistant Fire Chief, Boggs will oversee the department’s administrative and support services functions. His responsibilities will include strategic planning, budget development, fleet and resource management, emergency management coordination, and ISO compliance. His proven leadership and depth of experience are expected to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the department’s long-term strategic initiatives.
The department is also proud to announce the promotion of Captain Mark Guy to Battalion Chief. Chief Guy brings more than 20 years of fire service experience and has been a dedicated member of the Knightdale Fire Department since 2013. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to personnel development, operational excellence, and service to the community.
Chief Guy’s strong performance throughout the promotional process and his leadership within the organization have clearly demonstrated his readiness to assume this critical role. He will begin serving as the B Shift Battalion Chief effective June 10, 2026, where he will be responsible for overseeing shift operations and ensuring the highest standards of emergency response and service delivery.
