Basic Law Enforcement Training Sponsorship

The Knightdale Police Department offers a limited number of sponsorships for students to participate in the Basic Law Enforcement Training program at area community colleges. The sponsorship does not constitute a guarantee of employment upon completion of the BLET course, nor does it relieve the student of their financial obligations for books, fees, uniforms, etc.  Up to three sponsorship are offered each semester at one or more of the following community colleges:

Johnston Community College
Nash Community College
Wake Community College
Wilson Community College

In order to be considered for a letter of sponsorship, students must complete a sponsorship application and background investigation waiver. Those documents must be completed in person at the police department. Before the letter is issued, the Knightdale Police Department must receive confirmation from the community college's BLET Program Director that the student has completed the limited enrollment process, and will be attending an upcoming BLET course.

For more information regarding BLET sponsorship, please contact Deputy Chief Orlando Soto  at 919-217-2263.
