David Henry Adams, Jr. (November 28, 1926 – August 21, 2015), of Knightdale, was born in Wake County to the late David Henry Adams, Sr. and Lela Morris Adams. He graduated from Knightdale High School in 1943 and, at the age of 18, joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served for two years.
He married the love of his life, Odessa Johnson Adams. Together, they were blessed with four sons—D.H., Mike, Wesley, and Gerald Adams—and welcomed four beloved daughters-in-law into the family. He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
David retired in 1985 from the Federal Aviation Administration at Raleigh-Durham Airport. In addition to his career, he farmed for many years in eastern Wake County. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and traveling with his wife.
He was laid to rest with military honors at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Knightdale, North Carolina.
