NEW 1st Ave. Improvements - Contractors encountered some unmapped utilities that require redesign of a part of the storm drainage system being installed.  Work has been delayed several weeks but will resume soon.

The Town is seeking photos to use in its new website.  People, Places, Things, any picture that is representative of Knightdale.  If you have some good pics to share with the community, please send in digital format to jeff.triezenberg@knightdalenc.gov.  Your participation is appreciated, and the new site should be ready this spring.

NEW Spring Clean Up is here.  We've made a few changes, find out when crews will be in your neighborhood.

WANTED - Your ideas for the name of Knightdale's new park.  Soon, ground will be broken on the 70 acre site off 1st Avenue.  Town Council wants to hear your ideas for the name.  To see the plans, click the links below and be thinking about your ideas.  The entry form and details are AVAILABLE HERE.

NEW Pedestrian Planning Workshop ("Charette") - Saturday, June 2nd from 10:00am until 2:00pm.  Chamber of Commerce building on Main Street.  Light refreshments provided.  Find out first hand about some of the challenges people who walk in Knightdale face every day, or share some of your experiences and have direct input into the Town's new Pedestrian Master Plan.  Call 919-217-2245 for more information.

Thank you! to everyone who has participated in our Walking/Pedestrian Survey.  Responses may still be submitted through the end of June.  Print copies continue to be available in the Town Hall Lobby or the East Regional Library.

NEW BID OPPORTUNITY: I-540 Interchange Landscaping Maintenance - The Town of Knightdale is now accepting sealed proposals for the provision of landscaping maintenance services until 2:00pm on Thursday, May 24, 2012.  An optional pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the SE Quadrant of the I-540 interchange with Knightdale Boulevard. NEW WEBSITE COMING IN JUNE!

PARK PLANS View the plans -Park and "Station".  The park will be built in phases.  Phase I is scheduled to include most of the grading, multi-purpose fields, road network, utilities, destination playground and walking/biking trails.

NEW Check out the most recent Quick Facts Data Sheet.  It is full of useful information about Knightdale.

NEW Wake County Human Services has given tentative approval of CDBG funds for the Smithfield Rd. sidewalk project submitted earlier this year.  It is an 80/20 grant match, and the sidewalk will run from Knightdale Blvd. (@CVS) to Main St.  This project is part of the 2012 County Action Plan.  Public comments on this plan are being accepted until April 30th.

The carnival that was in Town through April 8th raised $20,500 for Special Olympics.  The Town wishes to thanks all of those that came out and enjoyed the festivities, Knightdale Public Safety and Officer Mark Batey for putting the event together.

A street tree planting project on McKnight Dr. has been completed behind Lowes Home Improvement.A new traffic light has been installed on west bound Knightdale Blvd. at the on ramp for 540 heading east.  You will notice that most of the time it is FLASHING YELLOW.

Transit PartnersKDX UPDATE EFFECTIVE 9/6/2011: The Duke Raleigh Hospital Park & Ride in Legacy Oaks has been relocated to the Wal-Mart parking lot along McKnight Drive. Express Commuter Bus Service now runs M-F from stops on Village Park Drive near Rex and McKnight Drive at Electric Avenue along with the new Wal-Mart Park & Ride. (Route map and Schedule).

Knightdale contracts with Wake County for most Animal Control Services, and is subject to the County Animal Control Ordinance.  Information about the Ordinance, Adoption, Spay and Neuter can be found here.
