Minimizing Energy, Fuel, & Water Use

Lowering energy, fuel, and water use is a priority for Knightdale. This can result in fewer greenhouse gasses and pollutants, fewer energy costs, and an overall better economy. As Knightdale’s town facilities work on decreasing energy expenditure, so can individuals in the community.

 

Tips on reducing energy consumption 

  • Switch to LED lighting, which is more environmentally friendly and can save money

  • Try more environmentally friendly transportation, like biking or carpooling

  • Turn off lights, unplug appliances and other electronics, when not in use

  • Stop any leaks and look into newer faucets, toilets, appliances, and plumbing when possible

  • Utilize timed lighting and solar-powered lighting for outdoor lights

  • Wash full loads of clothes and use cool water when possible
