Mayor James Roberson has updated the Emergency Proclamation, allowing for the opening of the Knightdale Recreation Center on June 8th, 2020 for camp ONLY, and the Knightdale Community Pool and Clubhouse to be opened June 13th, 2020. Public Safety facilities and services will remain open, but all other facilities will remain closed, including Knightdale Town Hall.

North Carolina has received approval from the USDA to begin a new Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Program. This program will help families who have been impacted by school closings due to COVID-19 purchase food for their children.
The program provides benefits on an EBT card to North Carolina families whose children, under the age of 18, would receive free and reduced lunch as part of the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act at participating schools.
P-EBT benefits will be issued from the Department of Public Instruction files for children enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program. There is no application process to receive P-EBT benefits.
Wake County Public Schools, Interfaith Food Shuttle and other community partners are coming together to provide meals to children across Wake County while schools are dismissed during the COVID-19 outbreak. Mobile markets are also available to provide shelf-stable meals for families.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC will be offering Emergency Food Boxes for families at select Meal Distribution Sites. Meal boxes will be available every Friday at rotating sites across Wake County. These boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Boxes will contain shelf-stable food (dry & canned goods). No ID is required to pick up a box!

Duke Energy is temporarily suspending disconnections for nonpayment and waiving late payment fees effective March 21. There are currently no fees to use credit/debit cards
To help residential customers who may not be able to leave home during the pandemic, Duke Energy has worked with their vendors to waive fees for credit or debit card payments effective March 21. They are also waiving fees for late-payments and returned checks and have suspended disconnections for all customers.

In response to the expanding COVID-19 public health emergency, Raleigh Water is temporarily suspending all water service disconnects due to non-payment of City of Raleigh utility bills. During this time, they want to ensure all Raleigh Water customers have access to clean drinking water and wastewater services. They will continue to monitor guidance from public health agencies and will provide updates on this policy moving forward.
To help limit person-to-person interactions during this current State of Emergency, we encourage customers to avoid paying bills in person by using alternate payment methods, including by mail, their online portal or by calling 919-996-3245.
